In the last couple years, Matte Paint finishes went from an aftermarket novelty to a factory finish available on most car brands. Mercedes-Benz has several matte colors (Magno Alanite Grey 044, Magno Cashmere White 049, Magno Platinum 051, Magno Night Black 056, Magno Monza Grey 054) available on 8 different models. BMW has their own variation that’s called “Frozen” colors (Frozen Red, Frozen Bronze Metallic, Frozen Grey, Frozen Black, Frozen Brilliant White, Frozen Silver, Frozen Monte Carlo Blue, Frozen Silverstone II, Frozen Space Grey, and Frozen Dark Blue). Not only are we equipped for these paint jobs, but we have the backing of the original manufacturer of the paint – Standox.
On their blog, Dr. Beasley’s has a great entry that covers the different types of Matte finish (single stage, 2 stage, and paint protection and vinyl film, and others). What we spray is only the 2 stage matte, which offers UV protection and chip resistance. You can read the blog here.
Most people work hard at their jobs, hoping to be noticed and receive recognition. The paint staff at Collision Consultants works hard, hoping to NOT be noticed. You see, we’ve equipped the paint department with two downdraft spray booths, heated and jet air drying, computerized color matching, digital spray guns, and all the best safety equipment. When the work is performed in a pure and sanitized environment, the refinished surface is free of outside contaminants. This ensures that the refinished panels look as perfect as the original.
FACTORY APPROVED PAINTS
Because we work on so many luxury, high end and exotic makes of cars, we are partnered with Standox for our paint supplies. They manufacture the paint for all the European car manufacturers. And because they have people on the factory floor, any changes or updates to colors at the factory get relayed to us in a real time network. So when we log in to find your paint code, we are SURE it’s a correct match.
